"Potter's PARADIGMS confused me"
—Mark Swed, Los Angeles Times

"Leuk"
—Louis Andriessen

"Steve Potter is a rapper!"
—Laurence Crane

"...voices and bodies as a social technology, an apt political symbol for new forms of interactivity. Steve Potter's Council System, explores these possibilities by explicitly breaking the choir up into revolutionary councils and elected representatives... Musarc – and the audience they carry with them – are most inspiring... as a community engaged in meaningful activity for mutual sensual and social benefit.”

—Adam Harper, The Wire

"100 Combat Troupes... is a soup brimming over with emerging images, meanings, contexts – in a true sense hetero-geneous, the meeting place of wandering objects whose starting points are lost in time and whose common terminus is their comedically missing each other."

—Liam Cagney, MusicalCriticism.com

"[T]he choir shuffled into strange, coven-like formations – as if performing a secret rite – during a 'subtraction' of Schoenberg's Three Folksongs graced by additional cowbells"

—Richard Morrison, The Times (London)

"With each segment dramatically different from the others, it would be difficult to imagine the "whole" of the work, but as delivered by Summers and Kretzschmar, the pieces were provocative, and through a wittily skewed lense, endearingly amusing."

—Rita Moran, Ventura County Star
